Introducing 3Play Media Canada
Updated: September 21, 2022
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new division, 3Play Media Canada.
In February 2022, 3Play Media announced the acquisition of Captionmax and National Captioning Canada (NCC). Joining forces with Captionmax and NCC has provided exciting geographic expansion for 3Play Media into the Canadian market and has cemented 3Play as the premier media accessibility provider in the Northern hemisphere.
“We are thrilled to bring Captionmax and NCC into the 3Play Media family. It has exciting ramifications for our customers, particularly those in the media and entertainment sector and in Canada, where we are able to deepen our expertise and relationships,” Josh Miller, co-founder and co-CEO, 3Play Media, said. “The combination of the three brands, now all under the 3Play Media umbrella, makes us the leading provider of quality media accessibility services in North America.”
The acquisition gave rise to our new Canadian division, reflecting our expanded reach and suite of accessibility services, including closed captioning, live captioning, transcription, broadcast scripting, audio description, subtitling, dubbing, and an interactive media player. The name change to 3Play Media Canada reflects our decision to work as one team committed to providing a reliable and comprehensive experience for all customers.
While NCC is now known as 3Play Media Canada, its historic leadership in media accessibility remains the same. 3Play Media Canada proudly maintains Canadian operations and continues to support a Canadian labor workforce, employing the largest roster of the most skilled live captioners in the country. 3Play Media Canada will remain focused exclusively on the Canadian market, providing the region with its own business development and account teams.
“3Play Media Canada will continue to follow the path set by NCC for more than 30 years, when it started delivering accessibility solutions to Canadian broadcasters,” said Melina Nathanail, President, 3Play Media Canada. “Having run NCC as a family business for that period of time, I couldn’t be more excited to adopt the 3Play brand, joining a team that feels like a family and has the same passion for digital accessibility that has driven us all these years to deliver the best to the Canadian market.”
With the brand integration, 3Play Media and 3Play Media Canada offer the widest breadth of media accessibility services across North America, making creating accessible content easy. To learn more about our offerings, visit our services page or read the full press release here.
