View Translation and Subtitling Packages

After your video or audio files have been captioned (or transcripts aligned), we make it easy to translate them into many different languages. Our video translation services are seamlessly integrated with our captioning and transcription services.

Benefits of Video Translation & Subtitling

  • Accessibility: Over 5% of the world’s population has disabling hearing loss. Translating your content will make your content accessible to a more global audience.
  • Increased SEO and video views: 80% of views on YouTube come from outside the United States. Not a lot of content is translated into other languages, which means that those searching outside your country aren’t seeing results for your content – and most likely they don’t see results for your competitors’ content either. If you translate, search engines will index your translated caption files and include your video in the search results in those languages.
  • Flexible viewing in sound-sensitive environments: With subtitles on, viewers can watch your videos in places where audio is unavailable.
  • Reach a global audience: All over the world people are consuming and creating video. But most of this video isn’t being translated, which means organizations are missing out on potential consumers, advocates, and viewers. Translation is the easiest way to ensure your videos can be understood by global audiences.
  • Localization: Large companies with offices all around the world rely on video translation to help disseminate and localize company content.

Types of Subtitling

Subtitles

Subtitles are intended for hearing viewers who do not understand the language. They communicate dialogue, but not non-speech elements like sound effects in an audio track. Video subtitling can be an instrumental tool in reaching untapped global markets and making your video content accessible to other countries in an array of languages.

Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Subtitles for the D/deaf and hard of hearing (SDH) are subtitles that combine the information of both captions and subtitles. They can be in the source language of the video, as they include important non-dialogue audio like sound effects and speaker identification. SDH assume that the viewer cannot hear the audio and are intended to emulate closed captions on media that does not support closed captions, such as digital connections like HDMI. SDH subtitles can also be translated into foreign languages to make content accessible to individuals who understand other languages.

Additional Features Available

Dubbing

Dubbing entails creating a translated version of a video for distribution to non-native speakers. New audio segments are synced with the existing footage, keeping the dubbed version as close as possible to the original. Although similar, dubbing is not the same as a voiceover, which is used to inform viewers about the story and character and is used for creative storytelling purposes.

Forced Narrative Subtitles

Forced Narrative (FN) subtitles are overlaid text that clarify communications intended to be understood by the viewer. FN subtitles are delivered as separate timed text files and can be used to translate sporadic foreign language, foreign labels, uncommon communication, transcribed dialogue, and more. The picture in your source video is required to be delivered without text, and therefore FN subtitles cannot be burned-in.

Live Translation

Delivering important information in a viewer’s native language aids comprehension and retention of information. Accurate translation allows for the maximum amount of understanding for the viewer. 3Play Media can provide live translation in more than 100 global languages and provide a transcript in a desired language.

Quality

Translations are always done by professional linguists that accurately capture the cultural nuances of your video content.

Linguists have area-specific expertise across a wide range of topics, including marketing, technology, healthcare, finance, government, and education.

Our translations are not word for word or literal – they read as if they were written in the target language, and are translated in context against the actual video.
